Stuart Hamilton MD of Hydrosave during a recent visit to China
was elected as the secretary to the IWA Water Loss Task Force
(WLTF)
Stuart will be working along side major international consultants
and leading personnel within the water industry throughout the
world to develop best practices and methodologies
These techniques will enable a common worldwide approach to
water management, loss control and calculations.
Hydrosave has recently completed studies and projects in the
following countries:
Australia - Hydrosave was commissioned for a 3 month initial
visit to Queensland Australia to assist in a water loss strategy;
this project will be ongoing for the next 3 years
Kuwait – Hydrosave has been commissioned to develop a
water loss control program and active leakage control program-
this program is ongoing
Kuwait – Hydrosave was recently commissioned to assist
in the development a water code of practice document – this
program is ongoing
Ukraine – Hydrosave was commissioned to calculate the
losses and produce a report for a major city in Ukraine ‘Donetsk’.
The results were presented to the board of directors in 2006
Calgary Canada- Hydrosave was commissioned to assist Calgary
Water in the development of a bespoke active leakage control
program to help in their losses program. A totally new approach
was developed using the Gutermann ground microphone and was proved
to be successful. A paper is available of the findings and was
presented in Macedonia Sept 2006.

Training
Provision in the United Arab Emirates
|

Hydrosave interests in the Middle East continue to expand with
the recent request to deliver a bespoke training program to employees
of the local water company with Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
The program which is in association with a leading UK manufacturer
of water industry equipment is to concentrate on field based
leakage and below ground asset location methodologies and
is planned to commence in July 2005.

As part of Cambridge Waters leakage reduction initiative Hydrosave
have been requested to provide support to Cambridge’s
existing leakage detection efforts.
The support will compliment current leakage detection activities
and commenced mid May 2005.

Hydrosave have recently been awarded an extension to the ongoing
assessment of domestic water use project with Veolia Water.
The project captures water consumption information from some 2800
domestic meters supplied from within the Three Valleys Water Supply
Area and forms the basis for a robust “legitimate consumption” analysis.

Hydrosave
in the Middle East

A Hydrosave Business Development Group has recently returned from a 4 day tour
of the Middle East.
The group which was headed by Stuart Hamilton Hydrosave’s
Managing Director and included members of the Senior Management
Team met with a number of local water company personnel within
the United Arab Emirates in order to present the benefits of
a robust resource management strategy for water produced for
both domestic and irrigation purposes.
It was an opportunity for the Group to promote the range of
services Hydrosave can offer and in particular the Company’s
expertise in the fields of leakage and asset management.
The tour also provided the forum to review existing projects
in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi where Hydrosave are working in association
with a leading consultancy company in providing leakage related
activities to attain a more robust and secure supply of fresh
drinking water.
With this aim Hydrosave are currently developing a portfolio
of specific strategy and methodology in order to complement the
management of resources within an environment where water is
at a premium.

Hydrosave have recently been requested to deliver a comprehensive training program
to Water Industry employees within Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Part of which will involve a contingent from Qatar where representatives
will spend a week in the UK to gain experience in the arts of
Leakage Management.
The course agenda will identify the different methodologies
utilised within the leakage detection process and incorporate
modules on district metering, system optimisation and pressure
management.

The International
Water Association (IWA)
|
|
|
The IWA is a global network of water professionals, spanning the continuum between
research and practice which incorporates all facets of the water cycle.
Through the IWA, in the form of a “Task Force” members
collaborate to lead the development of effective and sustainable
approaches to water management throughout the world.
As a member of the IWAs “Task Force”, Hydrosave
Managing Director Stuart Hamilton recently returned from a 10
day tour of Australia and the Far East.
The tour was conceived as a focus for a number of key Water
Management issues relating to leakage methodology and the challenges
facing the Australian water industry in maintaining its crucial
water reserves.
Initiatives were presented from IWA members to representatives
from local Water Companies and service providers throughout the
continent.
Stuart was also invited to participate in a discussion forum
attended by government officials to establish how the IWA
may assist Water Companies in providing a robust strategy
for the
management of their resources.

As part of an ongoing partnership
with Severn Trent Water, Hydrosave have been awarded an addendum
to assist in the delivery of the Company’s Planned Preventative
Maintenance program.
From April 2005 Hydrosave operatives will be working closely
with Severn Trent Water in ensuring that their outstanding track
record for the provision of excellent water quality is maintained
by the delivering specific maintenance programs within the water
supply network.
Hydrosave Business Manager Stuart Mobbs commented “We

achievement forms part of a continued but controlled growth of
our service and asset management group which continues to flourish
in no small part due to the effort and commitment of our employees”.

Hydrosave
win another top contract

Hydrosave have recently been awarded a 3 year framework with Severn Trent Water
with potential for a 2 year extension. The framework includes the provision
of leakage detection services and emergency network support duties.
Procurement of the contract demonstrates the success of existing
contracts and the restructuring of the business that included
the recruitment of Stuart Mobbs and Simon Dray to the management
team, establishment of regional managers and supervisors and
relocation to new larger offices.
Stuart Mobbs as Business Manager stated ' This is an excellent

Hydrosave is pleased to announce the completed upgrade of all vans in the fleet
to side opening door Ford Transit Connects. This is a great help for health
and safety as members of staff can now gain access to their equipment from
the footpath without having to stand at the rear of the van in the road.

like home - new Hydrosave Office

Observant visitors to the Hydrosave website may have noticed that
our contact details have changed and they would be right because
Hydrosave has recently purchased a new 4000 square/feet office
block in Kettering. Hydrosave see this as a building block
to enable them to continue their growth in the consultancy
industry.

Management Division

Hydrosave have recently started a property management division
and have since secured several 10 year + contracts ranging
from grass cutting to full office management and refurbishment.

Has Been Verified
|
|
|
Hydrosave already operate a quality and environmental management
system which has gained BS EN ISO 9001 : 2000 and BS EN ISO
14001 certification.
These systems along with our safety policy have recently been
independently assessed by Achilles Verify. The audit included
an assessment of the implementation of our policies and procedures
for office and site. The audit highlighted that that our systems
are operated effectively, resulting in an above average rating.
The information from the audit is available to Achilles Verify
subscribers and will enable potential employers to make assessments
on-line.

Anglian
Water – PR04 Supply Demand

During November and December Hydrosave have provided Anglian Water
with support for their AMP4 submission. This involved carrying
out modeling and feasibility studies.

Hydrosave have been commissioned by JBS Construction Ltd to assist
them in their metering programme within the 3 Valleys region.
This work is part of a 3-year programme.

Anglian Water Services Ltd has employed Hydrosave to carry out
a lead sampling programme throughout the Anglian Water region.
This work is ongoing over the next 12 months.

Consultancy
Service for Unaccounted Water (in Africa)

Hydrosave have been awarded, by Severn Trent International, UFW
consultancy service for five African utilities. The project
is funded by the Swedish International Development Assistance
(SIDA).

Hydrosave is coming to the end of its initial 12 months of being
an ISO 14001 accredited company. Several major initiatives
have been implemented resulting in further environmentally
friendly working practices being adopted.

Hydrosave is a member of the Leakage Initiative steering group
recommending best practices for worldwide adoption for leakage
detection equipment and working practices.

Essex & Suffolk
Water Leakage Contract
|
|
|
Hydrosave UK Ltd has been selected
by Essex & Suffolk Water to participate in a framework contract.
The project is to assist in the Leakage Control initiative within
the Essex & Suffolk area of supply.

Hydrosave UK Ltd has been awarded a 14-month framework contract
to conduct water efficiency audits on selected commercial
sites throughout Southern England. The project commences May
2003 through to June 2004.

Al-Ain
United Arab Emirates
|
|
|
Hydrosave UK Ltd have, in conjunction with Hyder Consulting, successfully
bid for a water management and leak detection services contract.
The contract is for a duration of 30 months and commences
June2003.
|
|
This highly successful contract is reaching the end of its initial
period. Hydrosave in conjunction with Hyder Consulting has
delivered a quality product to the client. An extension to
the contract is currently under review.
