Hydrosave have considerable experience with planned and emergency
water distribution flushing operations.
Senior Managers have operated within water company incident
teams and been integral members of planned work approval boards
and mains rehabilitation investment teams.
We have also played key roles in the planning and implementation
of planned and preventative maintenance programmes, carried out
associated risk assessments, planned mitigation measures, and
operated mobile chlorine injection units.
Supervisors and team members have experience with valve operations,
flush and flow tests, water sampling and turbidity checks.
Therefore we are able to offer the following services
- Investment planning and promotion
- Design and implementation of PPM programmes
- Design of flushing sub zones
- Operational hydraulic modelling
- Levels of service assessments
- Risk assessment, mitigation and emergency planning
- Preliminary site inspections and checks
- Assessment of flow and velocity rates
- Card warning
- Pre and post water sampling
- Pre and post mains rehabilitation assessments
- Turbidity assessments
A controlled flushing programme can be provided in order to
achieve a self cleansing velocity whilst managing the flow of
water within the DMA. This may be required to reduce the discoloration
risk in a zone or as part of an emergency cleansing exercise.
This process may involve the establishment of temporary sub zones
within operational DMAs.
Routine flushing programmes at low velocities may also be carried
out to ensure appropriate turnover of mains without causing discoloration
events.
Pressures are actively monitored during the flushing exercise
to ensure levels of service are maintained. This can be carried
out using calibrated pressure kits fitted to standpipes and/or
GSM remote logging.
Hydrosave teams are fully equipped with appropriate safety equipment,
flow measurement, double check valve standpipes and potable flushing
hoses.
