Network Criticality
Hydrosave is able to offer clients the provision and bespoke development of Water Asset Criticality Risk Models. The models use a defined matrix to categorise each asset into the likelihood of failure and consequence.
The likelihood of pipeline assets and their inability to deliver a prescribed service level is assessed in terms of life expectancy and the next potential failure event.
To help determine the likelihood a number of denominators are assigned factors associated with serviceability and operability.
The consequence of failure is then differentiated into safety, social, environmental and economic impacts in order to appropriately distinguish the drivers for renewal and contingency planning.
This combination of likelihood and consequence determines the criticality risk level applied to the asset.
The models can be utilised to apply an operational investigation, inspection period or mandate for the renewal of the pipeline asset.
