Torque measurement and operation
The valve diagnostics process operates valves through a partial or complete cycle in order to assess the full characteristics of a valve’s operation, diagnose performance and provide a maintenance operation that will typically permit the valve to operate more easily in the future.
The final report we provide will contain:
- The correct direction of travel
- The minimum and peak torques required to cycle the valve – to assess future lone working, two person operation or mechanical operation
- Number of turns and highest torque requirement
The actuator also has the ability to operate in ‘manual’ mode and can therefore tackle a large percentage of those ‘difficult’ valves which would normally require more expensive remediation work.
The process is ideal to demonstrate due diligence has been applied to mitigate the risks associated with poor operability and serviceability of primary and critical isolation valves.
